Thanks for sharing. I TOTALLY do the same thing when I feel a block coming. I pretend to forget the word, or I’ll change the word on the fly. It usually works decently. I don’t do it because I’m embarrassed about my stutter, I do it just to keep conversations moving. At least that’s how I do it as an adult. Im sure that as a kid I developed this coping mechanism to avoid the embarrassment or whatever. I’m glad the anti-depressants have had such a good impact on our stutter and your overall mental health! I’m not sure if it’s for me because I’ve never really struggled with anxiety or depression. My family always call me “the happy robot” because I just seem so content. But that totally makes sense how stuttering would be tied to mental / psychological things like that.
