Accept yourself and stop focusing on other people's reactions

Accept yourself and stop focusing on other people's reactions Stutterers are always focusing way too much on how other people will react, how others feel. Why? Why do you let other people's reactions and actions control you? Just let it all go. Come to terms with your disability, accept yourself first, don't worry about the others. Go about your own life. Talk/Live/Stutter openly, we have less than 100 years to live, life is too short to worry about what others are thinking. How do you go about this? First accept yourself. Then if you want to improve your speech, try speech therapy. However, in addition to speech therapy, you will need to work on controlling your anxiety, stress, and increase your confidence. This won't be an overnight thing, it will take time and patience. You need to actively work on it. Afraid of using the phone? Then open up the yellow pages and make random calls to businesses to practice. Afraid of talking with strangers? Go out to the mall, and go to the store keepers and ask them random questions. Interviews? Ask friends with help for mock interviews. Anything other situation you are afraid of? Try to think of ways to desensitize yourself from it, so your anxiety and stress levels are in check. Also set your expectations correctly, like expecting a complete cure and complete fluency isn't reasonable. Don't rely on drugs, quick fixes, or scam artists to help you. Stop dreaming of a complete cure, learn to live a happy and fulfilling life with your disability.
