Friendly reminder that allowing yourself to not get attached to an emotion is as important as allowing yourself to feel through it. I just had an encounter with the new neighbor that moved in on the floor below me. It was brief, they obviously wanted to get to know me, and I came off jaded and uninterested. I stopped from engaging in fear of making myself look like a fool. So I kept it brief only saying a few words acting as though I needed to be somewhere. I really wanted to make small talk. I wasn’t fair to myself and I sure as he’ll wasn’t fair to the neighbor. This encounter happened a few hours ago and I’m still obsessing over it. I’m just sorta of posting to remind others, but mostly myself, to allow myself to let go.
