That's interesting! You bring up a good point that your stuttering and the OCD tic (that your dad has) could be somehow related. This [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/OCDRecovery/comments/xjsttj/tips_for_stutteringocd_observing_triggers_not/) explains how stuttering and OCD could be related and provides advice how to deal with it. In my opinion, people with Tourette’s disorder have the opposite problem to people with a Stuttering Disorder, inasmuch as people with a stuttering disorder worry about not being able to get their words out, whereas people with Tourette’s Disorder worry that they can’t stop themselves doing so. I argue that this could mean that PWS justify (and reinforce) primary compulsive behaviors, whereas people with a Tourette's Disorder justify (and reinforce) forward flow of speech. I'd like to think of justifying in terms of a neurological habit. I think that the neurological habit of justifying is less hardwired for PWS, because most PWS don't realize what path they subconsciously take from the first moment they experience a trigger until the moment that they do a compulsion to hold back speech (resulting in a speech block). I'd like to think that PWS who learn to become aware of their neuro-physiological habit, could gain more control over decision-making to resist compulsions and rituals (e.g., panic resposnes, overthinking or overreacting).
