Call family members and friends and when you do sit in front of the mirror and watch yourself! Have a regular convo but try your best to keep control of your stutter. Watch for cues and observe yourself carefully. Is your face tightening up, is it crunching, is your tongue sticking out, etc. Watch for signs that you are about to stutter and figure out the rhythm that precedes the event. When you can figure that out, you can start controlling these things. I’ve done all of these myself and its worked wonders! I’m a medical student and go to my clinical rotations with complete confidence. If you want to discuss these, I’m always available to talk about strategies that have helped me. @docstammer on IG.
