Slowing down. I’ve found that when I’m trying to force myself to speak a certain way or at a certain pace, I loose track of all the skills I’ve picked up. Sometimes it’s literally telling myself, “you’re not in a rush, you deserve to be heard clearly, so take your time”. And really thinking about what I want to say, visualizing it, and saying it. My stutter ebbs and flows, and is mostly triggered by stress/lack of sleep but sometimes just a general disfluency. So, allowing myself (like I do for others) the time and space to express myself, is helpful.
