The only side effects I had from Buspar was a short, but severe headache about 20 minutes after taking the pill. I figured out that if I broke it in half, then the side effects were pretty much non-existant. Buspar is an anxiety medication, and I realized I stuttered the most when I was anxious or when I KNEW that I would have to talk a lot. I think bringing down my anxiety helped me control the stutter/stammering. I wouldn't say that I didn't block where I thought I would, but more or less I felt like I knew that I WOULDN'T have a block, if that makes sense. I can think of phrases in my head and KNOW that I'm going to stutter if I try saying it, but while on Buspar, I felt like I was able to say other things that would normally mess me up. After my prescription ran out, I felt like my stuttering came back x1000. Maybe it's mental? I'm not sure, but man, I definitely noticed the difference after running out. I'm definitely going to see another doctor when I get decent health insurance.
