Has anyone else had the notion that learning other languages is pointless if you cannot even speak in your own? I know there's a decent handful of people on this sub that speak 2+ languages but for the most part, this is an English-speaking sub. I always felt as if learning something like Spanish (or any other language) in school felt very pointless as the time required to learn the language along with the stutter predicament made it feel very futile. Yeah, you could learn the language in written form, but speaking felt like such a waste to me, like I could be doing something far more useful with my time than learning another language I will stutter with. This sucks because learning languages is definitely cool, yet it feels like we get less out of it than the people that are fluent (if that makes sense).
