Looking down/away signals your brain to feel shame This is not true for all people with blocks. Most of my stuttering at this point is based on blocking (still repetitions as well, but probably like 70%-30%). None of my stutter is fear based or has anything to do with eye contact. I still block if I'm looking another way or if I am death staring someone in the eyes
