>If medication lowers your anxiety then your mind-body cannot do its job to adjust when you are exposing yourself to this anxiety That's very true actually. I actually have 2 different types of anxiety. One is nervous tension, self-consciousness, shyness, social anxiety. This is what the Klonopin helps with. I became more talkative and also was ABLE to speak easily without stuttering. The other type of anxiety is more dread-related, fear, and feelings of impending doom. This is trauma-based and also caused my OCD whereby I live in constant fear my parents and cat will die. This OCD also gives me 8 different motor tics. Klonopin doesn't help any of this, but Xanax does. I wasn't even aware until now that I have OCD as a different type as well - stuttering OCD. And no, I've never done ERP for stuttering. I haven't done ERP at all, as my trauma is too great to be exposed to my fear of my parents and cat dying.
