Hmm. I think it might depend on the phenomenon involved, but I suppose you could be right. Maybe it's a matter of the intention behind the (sharing of the) statement?... At any rate, I was more going for the "narrow quote is narrow" angle. I don't like that sort of thing. It omits the reality lying around it. In this case, the people who don't make it.
