Do I have a stutter? My fluency issues are very situationally dependent and exponentially increase with anxiety/awareness of them. When i’m with my fiancé, under the influence of alcohol, or physically exerting myself, I never have any issues. However, during presentations, phone calls, etc. I often experience what I can only describe as speaking “blocks”. I feel as though i can’t produce any sound. There are certain words that are particularly hard for me - multiple syllabic words that begin with a vowel for example. Is this considered a stutter? What treatment methods should I pursue? It can become quite noticeable and is a significant source of embarrassment in my life.
