I am a software developer in a leading telecom company in GCC. I deal with customers, management, colleagues. It didnt affect me in anyway like that. Infact, they go for my work rather thab my speech. Everyone is aware of my stammering and they don't even mention it. So I would still say software field is the safest bet.
