Woah-Woah-Woah-Woah, STOP the discussion right there! Those so called childhood “friends” weren’t the type of FRIENDS who’d stand with you or behind you in any situation! I stuttered until the age of 25. I’m now in my 40’s. My FRIENDS would tell me to: “slow down” or “think about my words carefully & what it is I am/was trying to say” My Best-Friend didn’t have me speak at his wedding when the other groomsmen did! For a while, I was pissed about it, bc we’d known each other since 2nd & 3rd grades, been on the same only undefeated Minor-B Little League Baseball team in Florida’s history (up until then)- not sure if anyone else has accomplished that same feat yet in Florida. But when I thought about it a bit??? He wasn’t dismissing or keeping me from speaking at his wedding, but rather he was PROTECTING ME from any embarrassment of slurred speech I may have run into at the reception. That’s a TRUE Friend! Now about the Psychology degree…my college now uses different textbooks after my final term paper’s submission! Stuttering/Stammering is a PHYSIOLOGICAL Disorder & NOT a PSYCHOLOGICAL Disorder! You need to do research about DIAPHRAGMATIC BREATHING! Your speech impediment will cease and you’ll have nothing but FLUENCY in your SPEECH!
