I've read/and seen posts and website saying that it is rare for trauma to cause stuttering. Personally, I'm not convinced. I started stuttering in 3rd grade as a result of horrible/mean/impatient treatment by a teacher. My stuttering got so bad that at times - i wouldn't stutter... i simply couldn't START talking... Words just stuck... wouldn't come out. :( Now - 58m - my stutter is rare, but the issue with "stuck words" still occurs... a couple times a day. No matter the situation. I never had any counseling... therapy... intervention of any kind. Not sure how it "mostly" went away. Good luck
