I just wrote this in another comment but cut/paste it bc I was looking for a better place for it! *“Stutter” is not a great descriptive word for this reason - some people have llllllots of repetitions - and some people develop shame/fear *because* of the repetitions. It usually turns into silent blocks, avoidance, high stress response, and worse fear.* Can I tell you what I’ve been doing that is helping immensely? (For reference, my heat broke last winter in New England and I avoided calling for 3 days bc of stutter. Just yesterday, I ordered from deli counter at supermarket and even asked guy a bunch of questions to get just what I wanted)
