I wholeheartedly disagree. This app wouldn't replace SLPs and their expertise. That's like saying, "well I don't believe people should have access to information on the internet because that's what teachers are for." No. People should absolutely have access to free/cheap information to deal with their stutters in their own way. Not everyone can afford to (or wants to) see a speech therapist. And more to that point, not everyone is seeking community help or local groups. Maybe they just want to spend a few minutes every day practicing their speaking techniques and having an app to remind you and show you how. I have several self-help fluency books written by experts in the field and if I can use the information in those books to improve my fluency, an app is no different. And where the hell are you getting the idea that "techniques most of the time do more harm than good"... what? Do you have any data to backup that claim?
