> When I opened up to my friends that I stutter they were shocked and they say that they don't even notice it. See you're already ahead of where I was at your age. One thing that Katherine talks about is when you do hit a block and are struggling and you can sense the 'awkwardness' in the air. I think at one point she talks about how she learned to 'hack' the situation a little. She might pause, restart her breath and smile at whoever she's talking to and start again. It's a non-verbal cue that everything is ok. I wish I could say that I've mastered this but I haven't. But if you can refine your communication philosophy and technique you can gain more control over your emotions. And you're right - nobody really cares.. anybody that does probably isn't worth your time or concern.
