Thank you for sharing that. Very few write Thank you letters/emails, so that's a plus for you because they do remember that. Secondly, I agree with the last respondent, don't ruminate over it, learn from it, and use it for the next one. My approach was to work within the organization at a low-level position, and I rose to the one that I actually wanted. Granted, it took a few years, but in those years, I networked, made connections, and that's what enabled me to grow within the organization. Now I have a job that I never thought imaginable, and I truly love it. Keep at it, never give up.
