Saying stuttering does not have to be corrected is akin to saying faulty vision or faulty hearing does not have to be corrected. Just as vision or hearing can often be improved by a prosthetic (eye glasses, hearing aids), stuttering can often be improved by a prosthetic like the Edinburgh Masker or Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF). Unfortunately many PWS do not know about these wonderful devices and are often given stuttering therapy which may not work and may even be toxic.
