When I say you can learn to control it, I'm not saying it'll go away. In fact, my post specifically said it'll never go away. When I'm talking about control, I mean you can communicate and participate on normal life without it having to be a hindrance. Yes, you will still stutter. I do all the time. But I can control it enough that I know I don't have to be worried or nervous that's it's going to be a big deal. Everyone stutters from time to time. As a person with a fluency disorder, you can absolutely get to the point where you can confidently maintain a level of fluency that is maybe only slightly less fluent that the average speaker, to where the average listener would not notice a difference. I don't think there's anything wrong with letting people know it can be done.
