Do you disclose your stutter to people you meet? I've heard a lot about people who when they meet people, they'll let them know that they have a stutter. I personally don't do this when I first meet people because it makes me feel like I'm defining myself by my stutter if I say it right away to them. I don't feel like I have to explain myself for stuttering and I want to just talk to people I first meet and have fun without feeling like I owe them an explanation for the way I talk. I do want to start being more open about my stutter with people I know well, because I often feel uncomfortable or anxious talking about it, but I also feel like it's awkward when I've been friends with someone for months and we've never talked about my stutter. I want to overcome feeling anxious and awkward talking about my stutter. What are your thoughts on disclosing it and talking about it with people?
