I am a Stutterer who is studying a degree in Speech and Language Therapy. 1 - mine varies, depending on how stressed out or what emotion i’m feeling (mine gets worse if i feel an extreme emotions), but: Plosives / p t k g b /, nasals / m n /, approximants / r w l j / and fricatives / th f s z / and affricates / ch / (i’m basically naming most of the sounds in the english language) Plosives and nasals tend to be my main ones, its annoying because my partner’s name starts with M! 2 - every one says to take your breath and think what you are going to say and say it, also think of a rhythm and say it in that rhythm, these DO work but i hate having to constantly take deep breaths. I personally use hand gestures and talk as my hands move (as if its in a rhythm) and i will also pause and try to say the word again if I stutter. 3 - I personally don’t like it but that’s because I consider myself to be independent, and when someone finishes my word for me, it makes me feel incapable of doing a simple task and lowers my confidence by reminding me of my impediment. If i’m absolutely struggling i do not mind but otherwise i’m like please let me finish it, thank you!
