I had a bad period when I first moved from China to Canada. My family is the reason why I got stutter in the first place (father was absent from the start, mother was mentally unstable and a stutter herself, raised me on her own, got abused on alot). I seperated from my mother when I was 12 and my stutter got significantly better, but trapping with my parents for the first couple of months after landing killed me. I stopped talking to my family, literally had no friend in the entire country, re-developped a series stutter, and lived in misery alone for the next 5 years. My academics also got hit hard and I'm still living the consequences today (altho mentally im in a much better state). Thinking back, the most important thing I wouldve done is to not spend my entire self fighting stutter. It's like trying really hard to go to sleep. A better way is be humble and work around it. Treat it as something you are gonna gradually overcome in the next 10-20 years. Go to gym, get in a better shape, and do whatever's necessary to help your career (for me personally a good job really helped). Don't get discouraged by the setbacks, it happens and will only make you mentally stronger. Good luck.
