Summer Program Presentation Hello, I am currently a sophomore in college with an opportunity to join a summer research program to make some money and gain experience. I am currently a part of a research lab, but it is unpaid work. My professor suggested this program to me! For some background, I am a pre-med student. During the program, I have to give a short presentation to other research students about my work. Then, at the end, I must give a 15 minute presentation to students (maybe faculty, friends, and family too) regarding my research project over the summer. I am interested in joining this program, but the presentations are holding me back. I have stuttered as long as I can remember and even though I have made some progress, I'm still socially anxious and I still stutter. I have generally avoided presentations since high school and I would like some advice on what to do. I realize that medical students will have to present and things like that. People say to live your life as if you don't stutter, but it's difficult. For example, I can never express my thoughts/ideas the same way I construct them which leads me to sound dumber than I am. What should I do?
