Hey OP, remember you chose your moniker 'freshwarrior' for a reason. I bet it was a good one. Many fellow stutters can relate as they fight with their own fluency. Sometimes the stutter wins the battle of the day, but it was only a day, and tomorrow will likely be different. Have faith that you'll come out ahead in the end - others have in this forum and they can offer advice and understanding. The twitch can be unlearned, I had a similar head nod/tick but found through therapy to try to relax/breathe through it to de-escalate the tension build-up. To build up to that, my therapist and I created a 'non-stuttering spot' on one hand that when I touched it with the other hand it was a sense of 'grounding' and acted as a reminder to try "Easy Speech". Everyone's different, but this was one of the 'hacks' that worked for me.
