UPDATE on research study! Most of you would have seen my previous posts regarding my ongoing research study to identify the strongest psychological factors in adulthood stuttering. I have run a preliminary analysis and the results are very very interesting. So far, I can confirm that based on the preliminary findings psychological factors are showing a moderate effect on stuttering severity in adulthood. Do keep in mind that I only included some psychological factors that have commonly been identified or hypothesized in the stuttering literature. So it’s possible that other potential factors are not included. However, the results are very interesting. While it’s premature as I’m still collecting data. I can definitely recommend improving your psychological health and wellbeing to improve the stuttering severity. It’s unlikely that this result will change as more data is being collected. I cannot revealed the main factors yet because I do not want to biased any responses from those yet to complete the questionnaires. I need atleast 30 more participants to reach the number of participants journals like to see in quantitative studies for publication. So please if you haven’t yet - consider completing the questionnaires following this link: https://forms.gle/1AAATXjiuTv21bBN7 I plan to hold a monthly support group on the backdrop of this study. So please keep an eye out for my posts in the next coming months. Stay strong everyone 🙏🏾💪🏾
