Would joining a frat be a good idea?

Would joining a frat be a good idea? TL:DR Should I join a frat of if I can or no? I started going to college again last year with a few friends who were going there as well. One friend has been going to the college for 3 years already and was one of the main guys in a frat so we all rushed that frat. They all got in but I was just under the gpa minimum so I couldn’t join at the time. I could still go to some of the unimportant frat events so I met a few of the guys in it. I wasn’t able to get my grades up enough to join(except last spring after midterms I had a high enough gpa and was voted in by their council or whatever but the recruitment guy never filled out the paperwork). I even live in one of the frats off campus townhouses(it’s the party house that no one wanted to live in though). Anyways, I changed majors this fall and have a 3.7 gpa. So I can join within a week if I want but I’m not too sure about it. There’s just a lot to consider and I get exhausted with too much social interaction with new people. Plus I hate where I live and was already thinking of transferring to a 2-year college for the spring semester before midterms.
