I go to the gym 3-4 days a week and I try my hardest to talk to absolutely NO ONE. The only time I talk is either if my son or nephew is with me or I need to get some plates from an area that is in use. Even then just a point and nod works most times. I have found that as I have gotten older my stutter has gotten worse. I get stuck on so many different things and it has been affecting my breathing more and more. I'm already self conscious at the gym and fear of tailing makes it worse. My brother swears I was worse when I was younger but I don't remember it being this bad. Then again I have had memory problems the past few years. I can't trust myself that I am recalling events properly. It's a combination of my bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression and the medication I need to take to feel normal. So yeah, I hate talking at the gym.
