>It was thrilling to meet others who talked like me, and who were successful, kind, and good-looking. It was also the first time I heard anyone describe **stuttering as a gift**. Hm, this seems to be a step too far in the right direction, so to speak. It's certainly a good thing to be happy and content, but why would we need to go overboard and start cherishing or even defending that which ails us? When generalized, this implies borderline _wishing_ a stutter upon other people, and I for one cannot align with that at all. - We have a term called "Stockholm's Syndrome"... I wonder if it should be applied here.
