I chose my studies based on the fact that stuttering affects employment negatively. I'm currently studying network engineering and it's pretty common knowledge that a lot of engineers are not the strongest socially (of course there are exceptions). Given that fact I believe that I have the best chance of getting somewhat stable employment as an engineer. Would I have chosen something else than engineering if I didn't stutter? Probably. But you got to do what you got to do to increase your chances of employment.
