For me, my best advice is always to give space, be patient, and give a little grace. Stuttering is so individualistic, and each journey is as different as a snowflake. No two people who stutter are the same. I'm sure that the parents thought what they were doing was going to help, but in the end, whatever YOU want for yourself is valid. There is no magic pill, just strategies and techniques to minimize the symptoms. Some have accepted their stutter, some want 100% fluency, some want medical devices to put in their ears, some want THC to help with their stutter......whatever is your journey is YOUR journey. Stuttering is very exhausting (both mentally and physically) and frustrating, but however you choose to live your life as a PWS, it is just that, your life. Blaming doesn't help anything it just keeps us from progressing forward. You live your life how you want to live your life. If you want help, there's many resources out there (both in person and virtual) for you. You do you.
