My theory is this - we block more because we are trying soooo hard to hide our stutter/ repetitions. After a bad period, there’s less pressure to hide bc everyone clearly knows. Same reason lots of PWS suddenly get fluent when talking about their stutter, or when standing up for themselves after they perceive being mocked
