Be Thankful Tonight I went out to dinner with my wife to our favorite mexican place. Two tables down was a beautiful family: mom, dad, and twins. The twins were no more than two. The dad was deaf. The parents signed to each other while playing peek-a-boo with their napkins. It was beautiful. I heard one twin giggle. That beautiful baby laugh that sparks joy in the soul. And I looked at my wife, welled up, and realized something foundational. What we miss is much less important than what we perceive. The human experience is beautiful, and we all have something that keeps us from seeing it fully. Let’s rely on each other to learn to love one another a little better than we did yesterday. It’s the struggle that makes those connections possible.
