can childhood trauma lead to stuttering? I believe my stutter started when i was around 6yrs old after i got locked in a basement bedroom with no windows by my 13 yr old sister. I must've been in there for probably 15-30 min. Seemed like alot longer at the time... i remember being deathly afraid at the time and screamed for help as the room was pitch black... i honestly don't remember anything after that. Ive confronted my sister as adults about it and she just brushes it off as if it wasnt a big deal. She also doesn't believe the event caused my stutter. I dont remember stuttering before that and i started stuttering after that. So can an event like that cause stuttering? Im 36 yrs old and still stutter. It honestly has held me back so much in life that it makes my blood boil. I also resent my sister for it.
