This may sound odd, and not always doable depending on context, but with how my stutter used to work (for the most part I grew out of it in my early 20's but occasionally run into a block when I'm tired or nervous), I would really only block on B's and P's (and maybe some other hard consonants) when they were the first sound out of my mouth in a given statement. So if I inserted something prior to saying the offending word such as "I had a butter tart for lunch" instead of just answering with "butter tart" this seemed to quite often eliminate the block for some reason. Sometimes even just adding "a" or "the" if the entire sentence would be too awkward to respond with also worked. Feels kind of like my mouth engine chokes if I try and floor the gas from a standing stop, but if I slowly rev it up with some non-offending words and quickly get to the problem word, the word seems to just slip in and out without much trouble. Probably won't work for everybody but it worked for me! Hope it helps!
