Honestly dude, we place too many expectations upon ourselves! When you place your mindset on your stutter you forget to have fun. To dip your toes into unfamiliar territory and focusing on relaxing in the present moment is a sure way to see growth. When I was younger this was much more difficult to do. As everything I did revolved around my stutter. It stopped me from trying new things and developing new hobbies. But having a passion for something is an amazing way to bond with people. Whether it's music, dance, arts, video game culture, theatre, films...list goes on. Alongside this you'll be immersed into different social circles. As long as you expect nothing of yourself you're gonna have amazing times. We love to look inside ourselves a lot. However there's times where you need to be outward thinking and put the focus onto something else. A lot of my travel is done so with dance related activities and events. Now I apply the same mentality to different social situations (outside of dance) and it works. A lot of the time when I meet people, it's just to be sociable. Rather than to gain something for myself from it. There's times where I forget this and conversations go differently. Long explanation I know. It all ties in together.
