In short, do it. My previous job at a smalltown newspaper had me calling up strangers just about every day. I’m not gonna lie, the pre-call nervousness never went away, but neither did the post-call bliss, because the vast majority of my interactions went just fine. So yeah, do it. You’ll be the better person for it. Plus, that’s a sweet raise.
