I self taught myself programming and then took online gigs only communicating via email or Skype messaging. I was doing alright but we had a kid so I looked for a more reliable job. Got a role as a programmer. Soon after getting the role I saw a lot of stuff that wasn’t great. I started talking to my team and manager. Got a bunch of promotions. Now 50% of my job is presenting and talking 🤔. Honestly, my stutter has been my secret weapon. For the longest time it was my biggest insecurity so I worked extra hard to compensate for that weakness. I studied harder and worked longer than my colleagues. I think my mental health wasn’t great for a long time but professionally it has worked out well.
