I agree. ​ You said: "It reinforced my belief that I can speak fluently and with ease." ​ In my opinion, if you are reading aloud, then your goal should not be "It reinforced my belief that I can speak fluently and with ease." I think a better goal is: "It reinforced my belief that I can speak fluently and with ease, in all situations." ​ Problem: In my experience, I always stuttered when I'm alone. To solve my stuttering when alone, I told myself "I can speak fluently, when I'm alone" and practiced very hard on this. Now I don't stutter when I'm alone anymore. This is a problem, because my goal was to speak fluently **when I'm alone**, so I put a condition on my fluent speaking. Solution: in my opinion I should have had the goal "I can speak fluently, **everywhere**", when I was practicing reading aloud. What is your opinion?
