I hate when this happens. Also at the doctor’s office when they ask my date of birth and I struggle getting the words out, “did you forget your birthday?” Do people say this as an automatic defensive reaction to an unusual situation? Since it’s not just jerks that say this, and I don’t think most people are trying to be rude and hurtful.
