Famous people who stutter part 3 Tiger woods (December 30th, 1975) Woods has said that he overcame his stutter through hard work and a competitive spirit. He took speech classes in school and also spoke to his dog to help him. In 2015, Woods wrote a letter to a young boy named Dillon who was bullied for stuttering The letter included Woods's own experiences with stuttering and encouraged Dillon to persevere. Woods told Dillon that he knew what it was like to be different and not fit in. He also told Dillon that he didn't let his differences stop him and that he thought Dillon could be great at anything he did. Dillon told Golf Digest that Woods's letter was a huge comfort and that he framed it. Sharing his experiences Woods has also spoken about his experiences with stuttering on 60 Minutes. He said that the most frightening thing was answering a simple question in elementary school. He said that the words got lost between his brain and mouth.
