I stutter and I just spent the last 2 weeks being acting principal of my school I know everyone has different situations, but I thought I'd share mine. I have stuttered my whole life, although fairly mildly and have noticed in getting worse as I get older. Maybe I'm more anxious or just more aware of it. I went to a SLP therapy as a kid. Anyways whenever I converse in a casual situation, I'm usually okay, but I always stutter whenever I get slightly nervous. The last 2 weeks I've done the morning announcements over the PA system and although they were tough at first, I've been way less anxious the last few times. At first, a big part of me want to say no to being principal because of my fear of stuttering. I even joked in my staff meeting that the morning announcements would take an hour because I was doing them haha I remember teaching a kid and at the end of the day he wanted to tell me something, but couldn't because he was stuttering too much. I decided there that it was important for kids to see people who stutter work through it in their lives too. Hope everyone on here continues to do their best to not let their stuttering limit their true potential
