It’s puzzling to me how shocked people seem when I stutter. I meet people with various disabilities on a daily basis, many of which are as blatant as a stutter, and people almost always appear much more respectful and understanding of them. Frankly, I don’t want my happiness to be dependent on how others perceive me. I’ve lived that way for too long and it’s tiresome.
