I had to stop trying to mask it. The techniques I was using sounded worse than the stutter. I'm almost 40 and have been stuttering my whole life. I have a family with kids. My daughters have slight speech impediments, but not stutters. They're both very happy to be alive though! There are a lot of people in this world. You'll be able to find plenty who are happy to hear you stutter through whatever you have to say to them. This becomes easier and clearer the older you get. I think puberty is the roughest as a stutterer because your hormones are telling you to climb a social ladder 24 hours a day. You're only really a few years removed from the end of that. With more time you'll be able to see clearly that there are plenty of people out there who just want a good friend or a husband and could care less about your stutter once the social ladder climbing auto pilot turns off. Live like you don't stutter. Stutter like it's cool. Be the most potent version of you that you can be.
