I had to do this in 7th grade at a new school and in college in a sociology class. Both times alone in front of the teacher. I can never get those horrible memories out of my head. The 7th grade was a poem recital and it took about 30min for a 1min poem. These instructors don’t understand the lasting trauma they are causing. And they are perpetuating the issue by reinforcing painful memories. If you are a teacher reading this, please stop NOW!
