I wouldn't call it a minor speech impediment for a lot of people dude. For some sure, for some it's a lot more thab that. It isn't illogical either to think that people prefer fluid conversation too. Timing is what makes most jokes for example. And the ability to just jump in to keep a group conversation going is important. I mean, I've personally been brushed off when I got stuck on a word. It sucks, but some people just don't want to deal with that. If it's 1 on 1, sure. But for group comversations it's different.
