Just started a new job and I have a TOUGH time saying the company name. Haven’t really ran into a word I absolutely can’t get around without stuttering for a long time, but this new job has definitely got me out of my comfort zone and my anxiety is x10. I’m currently delivering electrical equipment to construction sites and I have to call the site managers about 15 mins before I get there, and the opening greeting I stumble my way through and sound like a robot. The guy training me just looks over at me perplexed and thinks I’m somehow “forgetting” what to say, but in reality it’s my stutter. I was honest with him and told him why I’m so awkward on the phone and he seemed to not really get it. Luckily I’m about to go out on the road by myself and I think I’ll do better without someone there judging me while I talk on the phone lol. I’ve even considered making a voice recording with my personal phone and then playing the opening greeting through the work phone just to avoid constantly stuttering on the company name. It’s hell and I wonder why me, but life goes on.
