How Leonardo DiCaprio showed Rick Dalton's stutter in the new Tarantino movie; “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” I'll say this to start with, I loved the film. I was quite surprised when I noticed that Leonardo DiCaprio's character Rick Dalton, had a stutter. It's not always clear but you can spot it quite easily in some scenes, when the scene is tense and when Rick is angry or under pressure. I'm sure that most people didn't notice, or if they did notice they didn't give it another thought. I think because I stutter myself, I am used to listening closely to how other people speak and I picked up on it quite early on. I think Leo did a great job portraying someone with a stutter. You can see where Rick is out of breath from blocking on a certain word, or he changes a word mid-sentence to something easier that he can say. I was really surprised but in a good way. Just wanted to mention it!
