I'm also an SLP grad student! I recently developed an acquired stutter of unknown etiology (I've had a CT scan and been seen by neurologists... nothing concerning has been found). My main worry was telling professors, supervisors, bosses, etc. My stutter is pretty severe (40-60%) so it's not exactly covert. I was pleasantly surprised with how understanding everyone has been so far.
